Drain Detectives

We have a sewer smell coming from somewhere in our house, we think the laundry room. Admittedly a challenging problem. I'm frustrated because the person I spoke to on the phone must have known there was nothing they could do, but sent a plumber anyway. The plumber was nice, did his best but I essentially had the same conversation with him that I'd had on the phone, only it cost $75. Smell started up less than an hour later. I don't fault them for being unable to help, but I'm extremely frustrated they weren't transparent about their inability to deal with my specific problem on the phone. Update: As I feel your response to my review is misleading I reserve the right to clarify my position: I was given a half refund after I discovered a leak in the p-trap in my laundry room which your plumber failed to check. It was the only thing you were clear about on the phone before coming: that a smell could be related to the p-traps. You did not check all the p-traps in the laundry room where I thought the smell was coming from, as I discovered shortly after your service call. I complained about this issue and we came to the agreement of a partial refund. You were beligerant and aggressive. I was frustrated by your poor communication that a smoke test would have been a better course of action. However, I did not pursue a refund until I discovered you were also negligent.

We had an unexpected drain clog and small backup in our basement floor drain a few years ago during the morning timeframe and called Drain Detectives in Salt Lake City. They were at our house within 30 minutes and unclogged our floor drain through one of the cleanout access openings in the basement and everything was back to normal. And they gave us some good tips on how to prevent this from occurring again. We haven't had any issues for the last several years! Drain detectives we able to replace my failing sewer line from the house to the street at a much more reasonable cost than quoted by other companies. The crew were efficient and respectful, and preserved as much of the landscaping as possible, replacing the mulch and materials when complete. They repaired the sidewalk where it had to be removed. Overall great experience and would recommend.
