Mertes Plumbing & Heating

We have used Mertes Plumbing & Heating on several occasions and have been pleased with their service. They return calls promptly, answer all of our questions, are pleasant to deal with, and their pricing is fair. We highly recommend them.

Denny, Jim & Dennis all came to the rescue when our well pump went out on Friday morning. They didn't get the message we left until Friday night after work. Jim called us back that night and they were here Saturday morning to assess the situation and had a new well pump installed by early afternoon. We can't thank them enough for coming to the rescue and getting water running back to our house that quickly. That's what we call exceptional service and we recommend them highly. I called Charles on March 1, 2023, because he is on the AO Smith website as a service provider. I told him about the issue with our hot water heater. He said he would order the parts and asked that I text the model and serial number. I texted him at 9:51 a.m. on March 1. I didn't hear back, so I texted him at 9:21 on March 2 to be sure he had received the necessary information. He never responded. I called him on March 3 because I hadn't heard from him. He called me back and said he ordered the parts and would let me know when they arrived but warned me that UPS was unreliable. I heard nothing for a week. I'm a trusting person, but we had been without hot water from March 1 to March 10. On March 10, I called AO Smith and discovered the part had been delivered to Charles Mertes back on March 2. Remember on March 3, Charles told me it had not been delivered. I made arraignments with AO Smith - who was very supportive - for a second set of parts to be sent directly to me. We're having someone else fix the hot water heater. I called Charles again. He said he would have to get in touch with UPS to figure out what was happening. You and I know that when something is shipped overnight, UPS notifies you of its delivery. AO Smith knew the parts had arrived by checking the tracking number that Charles had. Meanwhile, it's been 10 days without hot water in our home. All the while, the parts to repair our hot water heater had been delivered to Charles Mertes over a week ago. On our last call, Charles said he expected the parts would probably arrive soon. He said I should call him Monday afternoon. (Which would be March 13.) It's my fault that I waited so long. I like to trust people and treat them with respect. Seems like I made a mistake in this case.
