I had the best experience with Pioneer Plumbing! From the first contact, I was in tears calling in; I had never had any issues with my home, as a first home time buyer. The young lady whom I spoke to expressed genuine empathy and concern. She consoled me and assured me they would be able to help. Matthew the technician was wonderful! He explained everything thoroughly, fixed the issue efficiently, and was polite and professional throughout the entire visit. I really appreciated his clear communication and quality of work. Excellent service!! Thank you Pioneer Plumbing!

This company was recommended by a trusted friend. I had purchased a tankless from a different company that turned out to be a lemon , company was as well. I didn’t want to go through that again . So when my friend recommended Pioneer I gave them a call , knowing that my friend usually recommends good people. So I paid the 3k for a tankless they recommended . They told me that each year it needed to be flushed and that I could buy a kit and do it myself. The person thought the kit was around 150. So a year goes by and I call them out to do the flush and buy the kit - so I can do it myself the next year. The visit turned out to be 500 DOLLARS !! Ok bad on me - about three more years go by and I start having trouble with the tankless. Remember this is one they had recommended and told me initially that is should last 20 years. When my mom called them to find out what to do ( I work out of state ). They told her that they had updated their computers and didn’t have any information from the initial install and that she had to go to the company that made the tankless. So she goes to the tankless’ website and they said only installers can contact them about warranty issues. I feel that is something they should have known in the first place. So they come out and look at the unit and decide it is the siphon hose - but they are not sure , if they have the part , can they get the part etc - I think that visit was 189 dollars.. Apparently, they found the part , but needed permission to order it , etc . So they come back and get that done . They setup an appointment - but then I get a call that they are 25 mins out and that if I don’t call back that they will have to reschedule. Remember, I work out of state - so I call my mom and say hey the plumbers are calling me - why ??? So she calls them - oh the technician must have dialed the wrong number . You have an appointment later on - ok . Now they are saying they don’t have the part and need to come back out to double check the part. Which makes me wonder , was the bad part really a siphon hose ?? ( which I saw for under 6 dollars on the internet ) . Or is it really something different that was not properly communicated ? So now my mom is there waiting for them to come back to verify the part - apparently thy are late - and they said the visit to repair the issue will be almost 500 dollars ( sorry I found out that visit was 280 , for 20 mins of work ) — sorry I cannot recommend this company.

Compared to other companies, Pioneer is overpriced—but that’s not the main reason for this 1-star review. We had an old water heater with a leak that needed replacement. Pioneer charged $100 to send someone out on an emergency call, which was understandable and would have been applied toward the replacement and installation. After receiving the quote, we felt the overall price was too high and decided to pause while we got other estimates. Matthew, the technician, was very pleasant and professional, and for that he deserves credit. However, after speaking with his supervisor, Matthew told us we now owed $183 simply for the visit. No work was done. The water had already been shut off before he arrived, and the visit amounted to looking at the unit and generating a quote on an iPad. I don’t mind paying what I’m clearly quoted—but being charged more after the fact, without prior explanation, feels like an integrity issue. My advice: get multiple quotes and be very clear about all charges before you commit.

Had a small water main leak addressed quickly and at a premium which I was happy to pay (~$950). However, while waiting for pipe bonding to cure, asked to reseat existing toilet that took ~20 minutes to perform with only a wax ring as material needed, and was charged over $550 for that simple effort (while waiting). Pioneer could have exercised some small discount because they were already at the site, but chose to charge full over-stated price for effort, even after a call-back to office to inquire about the excessive charge. Actual service was professional and well done. Overall, …Not the Pioneer of old!

Our Navien tankless hot water heater was leaking at the bottom of the tank. Wanting to determine if the warranty was still good, a call was made to Pioneer Plumbing that installed the unit. A call was made to Pioneer Plumbing who installed the unit. The person who took the call instructed me to get the model number and call Navien directly. Got the information and called Navien directly. They informed me that I had to have a contractor contact them. They do not accept calls from the public. I called Pioneer Plumbing to inform them that a professional contractor would need to call them. Pioneer set up an appointment on 1/19 to have techs come out and diagnosis the problem. They thought it was a hose issue and a charge of $189.00 was due for the diagnosis. The office was notified that all calls were to come to my phone number as the owner was located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and would NOT be able to receive any phone calls. The office called the owner anyway. The owner texted me that a phone number appeared on her phone. I made a call to the office and they gave me a run around. They said the hose had to be ordered. Don't think it ever was ordered. Chino was sent out for a secont time on 2/17 with information that it could be the O ring. Thanks to Chino, he fixed the O ring tested it out and it is no longer leaking. The charge for this 20 minute fix was $280.00. Chino called several people to see if he could charge less but was told NO! On 2/17, the GM of Pioneer Plumbing reached out to me. I explained several issues that I was unhappy with and he said he'd check things out and get back to me. It is now March 4th and NOTHING! Think it could have been fixed with the first diagnosis.

The tech from Pioneer switched out a pipe. It took about 30 minutes and I was charged $1400. Turns out that was not the problem. He said I needed a total repiping job. Pioneer quoted a price of $18,823.66. Then I would have to hire a contractor to repair the drywall. I contacted a different company and they did the total repiping and patched the drywall in two days for a price of $4,800.

Chris Andrade was excellent! He was very professional, knowledgeable, and amicable. Chris diagnosed, advised, and completed all of the work in record time. He even found some issues that we were not aware of, so we will definitely have him back again. The prices for Pioneer are high, but the quality of work is excellent and worth it!
